Jacque stumbled up to his desk clutching a cup of overpriced, foul tasting coffee. “I shouldn’t be up this early. NO ONE should be up this early,” he thought.
He sat down in his rolling desk chair that had long since stopped rolling when one of the wheels cracked under the weight of his despair. As he thumbed through the new stack of briefs that had been dropped on this desk overnight it hit him - today was the day that four years of a fine art education, two years of graduate school, two more years of unpaid graphic design internship and the mockery involved in convincing everyone to call him “Jacque” instead of “Jack” during his “rebranding” had finally paid off. The last brief in the stack was the “Stikitty Mat.” Today was the day he was photoshopping kitties.
